Kirinyanga County Governor Anne Waiguru has boldly come out to announce her new stand as a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party member onwards. Waiguru's sentiments come after she had earlier been linked with a move away from Jubilee party. According to reports, Waiguru had ran out of interest with Jubilee party, something that prompted her to make a turn around on joining UDA.
Anne Waiguru is one of the most vocal female politicians in the country, her influence in the country especially in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region has always been immense. However, Kirinyaga Women Representative Purity Ngirici has earlier called on the Governor to join her in UDA. Purity Ngirici is among top politicans eyeing for Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat ahead of the general polls and would likely face it off with new party recruit Anne Waiguru.
Waiguru's change of allegiance has sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans with people expressing their concerns of the change of party by the Kirinyaga County Governor. Waiguru has however reiterated that she sought permission from Kirinyaga residents before making her bold move.
