Ruto was keen to note that his hand was not involved in the withdrawal of the cases as many Kenyans perceived. He went ahead to note that he did he make any call to Nordin Haji who is a good friend to him to stop the prosecution from going on as planned. William Ruto was tricked into revealing an issue with the firing of Kinoti. Previously he had revealed that he had no hand in firing Kinoti but during the last interview, he disclosed that he had fired Kinoti.
