Moses Kuria's Juja constituency by-election candidate has claimed that his life is in danger and hence wants the government to give him sufficient security.
“I am asking the government to provide me with security because I believe my life is in danger. Some strange people have been following me since I defected on Sunday,” Koimburi said at a press conference attended by his supporters at a Ruiru hotel.
He has accused among others Jubilee party vice-chairperson David Murathe, Kiambu Town constituency Member of Parliament Honourable Jude Jomo as well as Kiambu County Woman Representative Honourable Gathoni Wamuchomba as those trying to intimidate him.
This comes at a time when the deputy president William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance movement Party has pulled out of the race in order not to bring conflicts between him and the Head of State president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Uhuru Kenyatta hails from Kiambu County and Juja constituency is one of the areas that support him and hence UDA felt that it was necessary to let other parties contest.
“We are officially out of the race. That means we will not be fielding any candidate,” Maina confirmed without giving reasons for the decision.
