Mt Kenya region has become a center of attention as the country heads to the general elections next year. Top presidential candidates including Deputy President Dr. William Ruto, ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga, and OKA principals have been traversing the region in recent weeks in a bid to popularize themselves ahead of the upcoming polls.
On Monday, the Deputy President took a breather after days of campaigning in different parts of the country. The second in command however held a meeting at his Karen residence as he contemplates his next move.
The Deputy President also hosted artists from Meru county where he promised to integrate them into his government when elected as the next president. He promised to protect artists from indecent living as well as from exploitation and ensure that they earn a decent living during his administration.
He also popularized his bottom-up economic model to those who attended his meeting saying his model will transform the country as well as artists of all walks of life. He urged them to join his UDA party and back his 2022 presidential bid.
