Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga has revealed that he received a phone call from the UN Secretary General Antonio Guitteres.

While speaking on Saturday at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga foundation headquarters at Upper Hill, Raila revealed how the UN boss called him to enquire him on the political developments in Kenya and the region at large.

Flanked by the chairman of the Azimio la Umoja campaign secretariat, former Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi, Raila reveled that Guitteres expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of Kenyans during and after the August 9 general election.

While expressing optimism that the Supreme Court will overturn the declaration of UDA party leader William Ruto as President-elect, Raila said that Kenya is now a mature democracy that will count on legal means in a bid to address all election related cases when they arise.

On his part, Muriithi fired a warning shot at Azimio la Umoja constituent parties that appear to be gravitating to Dr Ruto's camp in a mad rush for post-election coalition deal with Kenya Kwanza camp.
