ODM party leader Raila Odinga today hosted a group of Meru region leaders from ANC who decamped to ODM headquarters in Nairobi. The leaders Ex- Imenti Member of Parliamnet, Ntoithia Mmthiaru, Jacob Nairoti was until today was the ANC Mt. Kenya regional Coordinator, Lucy Mukaria, Meru MCA and former Permanent Secretary Mukiri Kirinya they pledged to support Odinga in his bid to unite the country.
“I recently visited Meru and some people were saying that people from the lakeside can't climb a mountain. I told them my other name is 'tinga tinga. Between a tinga tinga (tractor) and wheelbarrow, which one can climb the mountain faster. Sasa tinga tinga ilipanda mlima ama haikupanda?" Raila said as he drummed support for his 'Azimio la Umoja' political rallying call. While talking during the even Jacob Nairoti told Mudavadi that they have no future in ANC calling on Mudavadi to join Raila.
Also present at the event were Dr. Oburu Oginga (MP-EALA), ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati, his Rangwe counterpart Dr. Lillian Gogo and the ODM Executive Director Oduor Ong’wen.
