Kieni Member of Parliament Hon Kanini Kega who is a staunch ally to President Uhuru Kenyatta, has told Deputy President Dr William Ruto allies to forget the perception that the second in command has already scaled Mt Kenya, and he will therefore get a huge chunk of the mountain region votes in upcoming 2022 general elections.

Speaking on an interview with Citizen television, Kega said that Deputy President Dr William Ruto has not scaled the montain and therefore the thinking that the DP will sweep the mountain votes. Therefore, the Deputy President's allies should stop dreaming that he has scaled up the mountain.

The vocal legislator added that mountain is slippery and it's climate is dynamic and can change any time and people will take a different direction, which will surprise the second in command for the remaining ten months to the next general elections.

"Those (DP Ruto & allies) who think that they have already scaled the montain, I'm actually sympathizing with them because the mountain is slippery and it's climate is dynamic. It can change any time and they will be surprised and I can assure you in the next 10 months to the next general election, the people of the mountain will have made a decision on they will speak in one voice and we will go for the person who will take care of our interests." He said.
