A number of candidates from the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party and others who were running as independents joined Kenya Kwanza a few days after William Ruto was declared the winner of the presidential election. This refers to those who won office using the UDM party platform.
As a result, the Azimio team is not content. Makau Mutua issued a statement on behalf of the Raila Odinga campaign secretariat this afternoon. Ruto has been accused by him of bribing the team to join his cause.
That the KANU party used this tactic to erode judicial impartiality and obstruct the growth of multiparty democracy. That his attempt to empty Azimio will fail. It was pretty evident that joining Azimio for parties was agreed upon.
He highlighted that everyone in Azimio should be informed of the conditions for leaving. All of the parties to the deal are Azimio. He exhorted those selected to represent Azimio and as independents to remain steadfast and preserve democracy.
