Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua claims that there are some forces in President Kenyatta’s government who do not want to hand over power to the newly elected team. Rigathi has noted that a team of some individuals in Mr Kenyatta’s administration have been complicating their work since 15th August when Chebukati released Presidential results. The former Mathira MP has alleged that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi and his PS Karanja Kibicho are not happy with their win. He says that the two even tried to block the gazettement of their election.

Kibicho and Matiangi have been against Ruto and his team. The two are not liked by leaders in Ruto’s camp over what they say that the two have been frustrating them. Before elections, Kibicho and Matiangi openly showed that they were backing Raila for presidency. And now Rigathi says that the duo is reluctant to start handing over.

Kenyans will see how the transition committee does his work with Kibicho and Matiangi being members. Since Ruto won the elections, Matiangi and Kibicho have not come out in public to congratulate him on his win like other leaders have been doing.
