"We Will Not Allow GMOs In Kakamega" Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula Now Tells Ruto's Govt

Ayub Savula has now sent a direct message to President William Ruto's government while warning that they will not allow Genetically Modified Food in Kakamega County.

The tough talking Deputy Governor has alleged that bringing GMOs into the country will hurt the country's agricultural sector in Western Kenya while vowing not to allow them step in Kakamega County.

Savula was responding to President William Ruto's government decision to lift the ban on GMOs and allow for duty free importation of GMOs into the country for 6 months.

Trade CS Moses Kuria had revealed that the government was lifting the ban on GMOs to cushion the country from devastating drought and famine situation.

However, the lift on ban on GMOs has been received differently with both leaders from the political divide.

Nandi Senator Samson Kiprotich Arap Cherargei has also gone against the government and is also not supporting the government on the GMOs.

ODM leader Raila Odinga has also called out the government over it's move to lift the ban on GMOs.
