UDA Senator Takes On CBK Over Response To Gachagua's Remarks On Foreign Echange Reserves

Nandi County senator Samson Cherargei, has hit out at the Central Bank of Kenya over response to Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua over his remarks on the foreign Exchange Reserve.

Taking to his social media pages, the United Democratic Alliance party lawmaker noted that it was wrong for the Patrick Njoroge led institution to respond to the deputy president through social media platforms.

Cherargei noted that there are official communication channels the Central Bank of Kenya would have used adding that the office of the deputy president must be respected.

"To all state agencies or officers I.e CBK STOP responding to our Dp Gachagua through social media, media, pressers its bad manners or ethics. They are better channels to communicate on govt issues and its about respect to the office." Cherargei posted on his social media pages.

In a statement released by CBK on 2nd of October, they told off Gachagua over claims that Kenya that Kenya has run short of foreign reserves, CBK Maintained that there is enough forex to cater for 4.5 months of import cover.
