Polygamous marriages in Kenya are not quite as popular as they used to be in the 20th century. This may be attributed to increasingly lean economic times with the cost of supporting one's family sky rocketing in the past few years.

The Bungoma Senator is married to two wives. These are Ann Wacheke Ngugi Wetangula and Phyllis Wetangula. Several years ago, Ann Wacheke was alleged to have battered Moses Wetangula in a case of gender based violence. The case was never followed up.

The COTU Boss has in the past few years become a leading light in the run up to the 2022 general elections. He has been instrumental in the campaign for Luhya unity. The 70 year old has been married to three women in his lifetime. His first wife is Jennifer Khainza, Roselinder Simiyu and Mary Kilobi who is a news anchor in a Kenyan television station.

The former Kakamega Senator has always been quite public about his personal life. His social media pages are filled with photos of his children. Khalwale was married to two wives, Adelide Khalwale and Jennifer Khalwale.
Adelide tragically passed away in 2019 due to pulmonary hypertension. She had successfully battled cancer twice.
4. Patrick Khaemba
Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba is also a polygamous man. According to reliable sources, two ladies have played the role of first lady to Governor Khaemba. The senior wife is called Rose Khaemba with the second wife being Lydia Khaemba.

5. Oscar Sudi
The controversial Member of Parliament for Kapseret is also polygamous and does not hide that fact. He is married to Lilian Sudi and Ann Sudi.
6. Governor Wycliffe Oparanya
The Kakamega Governor also doubles up as the Chairman of the council of Governors. This has earned him a lot of publicity in the past months. Priscilla Oparanya
