Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's allies have protested against President William Ruto's failure to name the Ministry of Devolution Cabinet Secretary as new details emerge.
After the failure of President William Ruto to name the Devolution Cabinet Secretary in his government, Raila Odinga's allies have protested with Narok Senator Ledama Olekina informing that "Why are you crying that the Ministry of Devolution is not there anymore? I thought you were the same people saying the executive is trying to claw back on devolved functions? Man up now! Use your autonomy and deliver to the Citizens. The Senate of Kenya will send you more money!" Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has said.
Orange Democratic Movement Party Communications Director Hon Philip Etale has also said that "Not assigning devolution a ministry sounds funny. It spells doom to devolution. Might this be the beginning of the end of devolution? Who will speak for devolution in the Cabine? Who will stand for devolved units? Some people will troll me, but this is a fertile question."
Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mr. Eugene Wamalwa also reacted by saying that he is at a loss seeing that despite the creation of the Devolution docket in the former administration, the Kenya Kwanza government led by President William Ruto did not recognize the docket, saying that he is at a loss.
" May l congratulate my colleagues CS Chelugui & Amb Monica Juma on their nomination, as well as my friend Hon Aden Duale to whom l will be handing over as CS Defence. But am at a loss as to what happens to Devolution, is it an oversight or it is not a priority to this Administration?" Eugene Wamalwa has said.
