The Cabinet Secretary for education George Albert Omore Magoha is a man known for his stern policies and serious personality. He is probably the only man in Kenya with a CV with more than 80 pages. However, Magoha has a softer side which is barely known to the public, his family.
He has a wife of Nigerian descent called Barbara Odudu Essien Magoha. The two met at the University of Lagos where they were both studying medicine. They tied the knot in 1982. The beautiful woman is a doctor by profession, shhe serves in the gynecology department. She loves to maintain a low profile. Together, George and Barbara are blessed with one son called Michael Augustus Achianja Magoha.
As the saying goes, an apple does not fall very far from the tree. Michael Magoha also followed hius parents’ footsteps in the medical field. He studied at Broohouse and Strathmore before joining the University of Nairobi to pursue a degree in medicine and graduated in 2009. He returned to study neurosurgery in 2011.
Currently, Michael works as a lecturer at the University of Nairobi in the department of Neurosurgery. He is also a consulting surgeon at the Kenyatta National Hospital. The journey has not been entirely smooth for the young lad, in 2018, he together with some nurses and an anesthetist were suspended after a botched surgery sparked outrage from the public.
Michael Magoha loves playing guitar and basketball. Details about his personal life are not known to the public. The Magoha family is truly blessed.
