Bad News To Kenya Kwanza As Details Emerge From National Integrity Alliance

The National Integrity Alliance (NIA) was forbidden from running in August, including Rigathi Gachagua, Deputy president of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, and Mike Sonko, aspiring Mombasa governor.

Rigathi Gachagua and Mike Sonko will join Kiringaga Governor Ann Waiguru, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, former Nairobi MP Evans Kidero, and Cape Town MP Oscar Sudi as members of the Kenyan delegation.

In terms of action and acknowledgment, we have carefully evaluated the significant advances in the implementation of Chapter 6 of the Constitution. As the general election on August 9, 2022 approaches, the NIA noted that many political developments have signaled the prospect of contesting by-elections, and other persons have also risen to run in by-elections.

The Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) should not allow Rigathi to campaign for the post of Deputy President, as he has been involved in the action, leading to the closure of Assets and Recovery Authority accounts with an estimated 200 million Ksh of undisclosed resources. He has also been charged with conspiracy to defraud the Nyeri County government and fraudulent procurement of public property.
