Kenya Kwanza's vice presidential candidate, Rigathi Gachagua, predicts that Kenyans would know who their next president will be well before the deadline. Despite complaints for moving too slowly, the IEBC has proceeded to release presidential results in each district.
According to the leaving Mathira MP, the announcement could come as early as tomorrow, suggesting that Kenyans will know who their new leader is by Sunday night. Furthermore, he highlights the importance of their adversaries' agents, the Azimio La Umoja coalition, ceasing their interference in the process."If the pace is maintained and they do not cause any unnecessary delays," he says, "the winner of the presidential vote should be declared by the end of tomorrow" (Sunday).
The difficulties and lengthening of the procedure, he claims, are directly due to Azimio agents' refusal to enable IEBC staff to work freely. He also added that everyone believes his team would be declared the winners, with Ruto being the new President.
"You can easily figure who won with a calculator, making the National Returning Officer's pronouncement a formality." He says, "Iko mbele iko sawa." Here's a summary of what he said.
