The Majority leader in the National Assembly and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah on Tuesday tabled the list of members of parliament fronted to seat at the powerful National Assembly House Business Committee, HBC.
While moving the motion after the house resumed its plenary sittings, Ichungwah listed Eldas MP Aden Keynan, Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang, Ainabkoi's Samwel Chepkonga and Kathiani MP Robert Mbui.
Others are Faith Wairimu, Umul Kassim, Omboko Milemba, Sarah Korere and Joshua Mbithi.
The nine MPs will join the Speaker Moses Wetangula, Ichungwah as the majority leader, the Majority Chief Whip Silvanus Osoro, the Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi and the minority whip Junet Mohamed who becomes automatic members of HBC due to the house leadership positions.
The committee is always appointed seven days after the new house is fully constituted, and is mandated to prepare and adjust the parliamentary calendar with approval of the whole house.
It also monitors and oversees implementation of the house business and programs, the standing orders, the functioning of the committees of the house, and also determines the order in which different reports of the committees will be debated.
The list comes few days after Speaker Wetangula ruled that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is the majority in the house while Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance is the minority.
