Yesterday when presidential results were being declared officially by independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) chairman honourable Wafula Chebukati at BOMAS of Kenya, a section of IEBC commissioners under the leadership of Juliana Cherera who is the IEBC vice chairperson were missing in action hence causing a split in the declaration of the results.
Through TUKO news verified facebook page, the four commissioners have accused Mr Wafula Chebukati for conducting the final tallying process in an opaque manner. They have allegedly said that their was a deviation of 0.01% of the total votes that was declared and that corresponds to 142000 votes.
They accused Chebukati of making a tally of 100.01% and that made a very significant difference in the results that was declared yesterday.
According to Wafula Chebukati, he is the only person who is allowed to announce presidential results in accordance to chapter one of the 2010 promulgated constitution. He declared Dr William Ruto as president elect after garnering a total of 7,176,141 votes.
