President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee government is one of the governments in the republic of Kenya with a great achievements in the transport and communication sector. This can be seen through the recent development of transport facilities including the SGR that was constructed by Uhuru's government. This SGR is expected to assist the country in terms of transport and industrialization.
Now, some few days ago, the well known billionaires in the country came out to blast uhuruto's Jubilee government on the issue of SGR cost. According to Wanjigi, jubilee government spend alot of money in SGR as opposed to the actual cost. According to this billionaire, SGR was set to cost Shs 50 billions as opposed to Shs 310 billions claimed by the government.Now, today, Dp Ruto is reported to have come out to break his silence on this statement by hon Wanjigi. As reported by the Tuko News, Ruto said that Wanjigi is peddling lies about SGR after his design was rejected by the government. According to Ruto, the government experts went to Ethiopia a d India to do a benchmarking on the cost of SGR where they came up with a budget of 310 billions.
"We send experts to go and compare the costs of SGR that is in Ethiopia, India and everywhere else. We satisfied ourselves as the government that the cost of SGR cosntruction was actually competitive," said Ruto.
