According to lawyers Benard Odero Okello and Kelvin Ndoho Macharia, the court should act fast and stop further disbursement of the funds until there is clarity on their source and how much has so far been disbursed to Kenyans.
Through their petition, they therefore called for suspension of funds citing lack of board for fund oversight.
According to them, lack of board is a violation of the constitution and related legislation concerning public finance.
"The president on 30th of November 2022, rolled out the fund to a tune of fifty billion Kenya shillings hence putting to risk public funds contrary to the principle of prudence under the constitution and related legislation concerning public finance" part of their petition read.
