With the interviews having now been started in the search of the next CJ, all eyes in the country are keen to see who will be best fit to take over the position left out after the former CJ— David Maraga went for retirement.
While integrity and their practical application of law of the contenders are of utmost importance, other issues including their experience are expected to be taken in place in the search on who the next chief justice will be.
Already, 10 individuals— among them judges and lawyers of high rank— have been shortlisted to go for the post.
However, according to the vocal Narok County's senator, the position of the CJ is already taken.
Speaking through his official Twitter handle on Monday late at night, the senator sensed fixation in the manner in which the search on who the next CJ will be.
While naming the state's preferred candidate by his initial name— Fred— he was referring to Fred Ngatia; a veteran lawyer who have been representing the president in past court cases.
Ledama O'lekina asked the interviewees to stop wasting time, avoid formalities and name the preferred candidate for the job since they 'they' already know who the next CJ will be.
"Stop wasting time with Chief Justice Interviews we already know who you are giving the position. Wacheni formalities! my Friend Fred buy new suites or I get you some Maasai Suites and you start your tenure!" said the senator through a Twitter post.
