The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is currently crying foul as they accuse the government of using the police to try and jeopardize their performance in Rurii by-elections.
" Roadblocks into Rurii ward mounted. UDA chief agent Higgins Mbugua and Daniel Githinji arrested. For arriving at the ward early to guard the VOTE. Kifua and guns will not win! Dictatorship. Let the people decide." Dennis Itumbi
The UDA sensed foul play after their two key agents, Brian Mbugua and Daniel Githinji were arrested this morning outside Rurii polytechnic and taken to Ol Kalou police station. Their car was detained and mobile phones confiscated by the police. The two were reportedly arrested for arriving at the ward early to guard the votes.
According to the UDA party press release, other party's agents have been harassed, intimidated by police. They also allege that at Mugumoini polling station, UDA agents have been refused entry as strangers purporting to be UDA agents take charge.
