As the 2022 general election gains momentum, presidential hopefuls when have shown their intentions in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta have been very busy transversing the country to increase their political bases.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been on good terms with President Uhuru Kenyatta after the March 2018 Handshake between the two leaders. The ODM leader has since been drumming up support for his Azimio la Umoja ahead of much anticipated 2022 across the Mount Kenya region.
However, Suna East MP Hon Junet Mohamed recent remarks in Kisii county has since spark a lot of reaction from Tangatanga legislators and other leaders who are allied to Deputy President William Ruto. Junet, who is one of Raila Odinga's close allies alleged that Raila's government will be for the people of Nyanza in 2022.
And now, Kieni Member of Parliament Hon Kanini Kega has broken his silence over Hon Junet's sentiment. Hon Keg, Raila Odinga's great supporter and president Uhuru Kenyatta's close ally alleged the Lake and the mountain remains united.
"The Lake and the mountain remain united! My colleague Hon Junet's statement was in jest. Let's not create a mountain out of an anthill," Hon Kega wrote on his Facebook page.
