Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu tells kenyan parties that Primaries losers in the Forthcoming nominations will not have window to vie as independent candidates or switch to another party.
Those defeated in party primaries will not have a window to vie as independent candidates.
The candidates must declare in advance if they want to run under a party or as an independent.
There will be a window where if you are a party candidate you cannot cross over to run as an independent.Once one is defeated during primaries, there is no window for you to jump to another party.
"@ORPPKenya Ann Nderitu warns that once any one is defeated during party primaries, there will be no window for them to jump ship and contest as independent candidates. This will strengthen political parties #KEGAnnualConvention2021," IEBC updated their Twitter page.
This comes just months before the political parties start their nominations ahead of the 2022 general elections.
