Kiambu: Kabogo Pours Cold Water On Raila And DP Ruto's 2022 Bids As He Reveals Mt Kenya Locals Plan

Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo has now come out to pour cold water on deputy president Dr William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga's 2022 presidential bids after he revealed Mt Kenya residents plan.

This follows after Kabogo noted that the region was likely to experience voter apathy in the polls after its residents made claims over the same.

According to Kabogo, a few locals would participate in the polls because they do not see the essence of doing the same. He quipped that they would query the importance of the process.

While appearing on K24 TV Live show on Tuesday night, the former county boss distinguished the difference between a politician and a leader. He indirectly pointed out that leaders were lacking in Kenya and what we have were just politicians because they only think of the next election and not generation.

He expressed concern over what may happen in Mt Kenya region in 2022 general election on the number of residents who would vote.

"Politicians and leaders are two different things. Politicians think about the next election, leaders think about the next generation. This issue of voter apathy in the central region is real because people are saying why do we go and vote?" Kabogo wondered.

This comes as Dr Ruto and the former prime minister Raila Odinga battle it to out to control the rich Mt Kenya region vote which is believed to have favoured president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017.

Uhuru will be retiring from politics next year having completed his two terms.
