Uhuru Kenyatta Reveals Why He Has Not Been Campaigning For Raila Despite Promising The Same

President Uhuru Kenyatta had vowed to support Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga's presidential bid ahead of the upcoming general elections in August.

He declared the same in a mega rally in Jacaranda after the former Prime Minister was named the flagbearer of the Azimio One Kenya coalition, a few months ago.

Speaking at the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) in Kandara, Murang’a County on Thursday, April 14, President Uhuru said he has not started campaigning for Raila since official campaigns had not begun.

He further warned those who were pushing him to engage in early campaigns, saying he won't be coerced to do so through threats and intimidations.

“I will not buy into your intimidations. Go and threaten your peers. I am ready to shake hands with anyone who supports peace. You will not push me into reneging on my promise to preach peace. Peace and mediation lead to prosperity,” Uhuru stated.
