President William Ruto has been making major changes to several financial institutions in the country which began with the introduction of Hustler Fund.
During campaigns, Ruto promised to abolish HELB and bring another education funding system. Earlier today, the president revealed the plans of doing away with HELB and bring in the new program that will release Ksh 22 billion to cater for higher education.
Taking to his official social media platform, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has fumed on President Ruto and told him not to attempt to do away with HELB as the funds helps comrades a lot.
"Ruto maneno ya University HELB wachana nayo Kabisa.Comrades come from very sorry backgrounds and ONLY Education will save them from the York of poverty hanging on their necks.
For we live in an hour of change and challenge, decade of hope and fear,in an age of both knowledge and ignorance .The greater our knowledge increases the greater our ignorance unfolds." Babu wrote.
