Kenya is a democratic country that allows for many political parties away from single-party rule. The Orange Democratic Movement is among the parties that have been strong for many years now and it is still strong since its formation back in 2005 with the former prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga being the party leader.
After the 9th August 2022 general elections, the Orange party has been put to the test because of the distribution of house leadership positions, especially in the national assembly. Bonafide members of the party have raised their voices to complain against decisions taken by the party to leave them out of key positions even though they have stood with the party gallantly.
Supporters of the Westlands member of parliament Tim Wanyonyi have now protested against Suna East member of parliament Junet Mohammed, they claim he is the one who shortchanged Tim Wanyonyi even though he suffered his terms of becoming the governor of Nairobi. They now want the Suna East legislator out of the party leadership.
