Despite Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party tremendously sweeping other parties in Mt Kenya region by garnering an overwhelming support from hustlers on the ground, some of Tangatanga allied legislators are also facing it rough when encountering the electorates at the ground level.
The second in command on Sunday received a heroic reception from thousands of hustlers in Githunguri, Kiambu county where the Tangatanga brigade had joined congregants at AIPCA Church for a holy mass and fundraising ceremony for the construction of Church offices.
While addressing a mammoth crowd of hustlers at Githunguri market, the hustler nation chief Principal DP Ruto invited the area MCA Hon Antony Gikonya to address the great people of Githunguri. However, the aforesaid MCA was treated to a crude shock after the agitated and angry crowd booed, heckled and rejected him with repulsion chants taking centre stage.
"No, no, we don't want him" the locals protested at high tones making the MCA to give up from making his brief speech. Deputy President William Ruto was forced to cool the heated crowd by urging them to lower their tempers.
MCA Antony Gikonya who voted against the famous Constitution Amendment Bill (2020) that was thwarted by High Court and Court of Appeal might be adversely affected by his decision of denying the Constituency six more counties that would translate to Ksh600M every month.
On the other hand, The Service Party (TSP) leader Mwangi Kinjuiri reported a huge lose after one of his resourceful confidant Hon Karungo Wa Thangwa who is eyeing for Kiambu senatorial position announced his official exit from TSP to UDA.
This is an added political bonga point to DP Ruto's 2022 State House Journey and the UDA house is now registering new members and influential leaders at a higher rate.
