Details Of Uhuru's 2013 Deal With DP Ruto About 2022 Emerges As Ruto Makes It Public

Deputy President William Ruto has acknowledged that he and President Uhuru Kenyatta had agreed that he would succeed him next year.

Uhuru had previously stated that he would support Ruto for the years following the end of his own term in 2022, a promise he now appears to have broken.

But, according to Ruto, this was not just a campaign remark, but a firm agreement they reached before teaming up ahead of the 2013 elections.

He claims that now is the time for the President to keep his word and pay the debt he owes him, after which he will finish the projects Uhuru started.

"A debt has to be paid. We agreed with President Uhuru to develop this country. Our agenda was destroyed by the handshake," he said.

Uhuru, on the other hand, appears to have chosen Raila Odinga, the leader of the ODM party, as his successor, according to his allies.

This follows his fallout with Ruto, which the DP has blamed on the 2018 UhuRaila handshake, which he claims has pushed him out of Uhuru's way.

Ruto also blamed Raila's entry for Uhuru's inability to follow through on his campaign promises, but expressed confidence that if he does, he will be able to save him.

This is because he stated that he will be the next President, and that if elected, he will fulfill the Jubilee promises that were to be implemented through the Big-4 Agenda.

"We had so much development work to do, but people with nefarious motives chose to ignore it. I want Kenyans to know that we will continue on this path until 2022 "the DP added
