Mp Chris Wamalwa reacts after his campaign vehicle was set ablaze after causing accident

As a result of his involvement in an accident that resulted in one person's death, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa's campaign vehicle was set ablaze by irate locals.

According to reports, the incident occurred yesterday at around 7:30 PM, leaving one man seriously hurt and one woman dead.John Onditi, the commander of the Kiminini sub-county police, who was driving the vehicle when it left Kiminini for Kitale, confirmed this.

When it did, a woman who was roasting corn by the side of the road was struck by the vehicle. Right there, the woman passed away.

She was also carrying a child, who suffered multiple wounds and is now being treated at Kiminini Cottage Hospital.The MP expressed sympathy to the families who had been wronged while urging authorities to move forward with their inquiries on social media.

"I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of the late Florence Apondi, who passed away after a horrific car accident involving one of my campaign vehicles. Just a week ago, one of our vehicles was involved in an accident in Naivasha," the MP said.

Both drivers of the unfortunate cars are receiving medical attention in a hospital, he continued. During this trying time, I humbly ask for your prayers and composure. As we pray for eternal peace for the deceased's soul, I implore the police to move forward with their inquiries.
