Political leaders allied to the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance camp, are coming in to terms that indeed their presidential candidate Raila Odinga was defeated by President William Ruto during the August 9th presidential polls, and they must move with haste to keep the Kenya Kwanza Alliance government on check.

Speaking with the Nation, the outgoing Defence CS, and who acting as the Devolution CS after Charles Keter resigned in February to contest for the Kericho gubernatorial race during the August 9th polls said that he will revert to practicing law, and that the Democratic Action Party of Kenya, DAP-K will remain strong in the Azimio camp and oversight on Ruto's government.

Wamalwa also hinted of contesting for the presidency in 2027.

"I am waiting to hand over the Devolution and Defence dockets, then go back to active practice of law and politics. DAP-K party will stand strong with other Azimio affiliate parties in the opposition to check this administration," he said.
