There has been uproar in the country upon the five judges and the rulings they put forward on the Building Bridges Initiative. The five-judge bench that is Justices Joel Ngugi, George Odung, Jairus Ngaah, Teresia Matheka and Chacha Mwita declared the process unconstitutional and blocked the electoral agency from holding a referendum on the constitution of Kenya throwing President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Omollo Odinga.
Although most of the lawyers have stated that the appeals to overturn the Building Bridges Initiative ruling could be a nut to crack, some lawyers in the country have a clean slate in some serious judgements. One of them is Siaya Senator Hon. James Orengo. The Veteran has represented former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in different cases including overturning the the 2017 Presidential elections win for President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee party. Senator James Orengo is one of the best lawyers in the country. Though he disagreed with some of the sections in the BBI hearings, he is well versed in the Kenyan Constitution and could make the Bill through to the referendum.
