"Sikuwa Natarajia Hii, Life Must Move on, " Raila's Ally Says On Presidential Elections

Raila Odinga's ally Alinur Mohamed has sparked reactions after speaking out on the possibility of the outcome,of presidential elections.

Alinur said that he was not expecting what is happening, but said that life must move on,and he also congratulated the new elect president.

"I did not expect this, but it is a bitter fact! Prepare for the unanticipated fifth president! Congratulations to the new President. Life must continue," Alinur said.

It has been two days since Kenya's fiercely contested presidential election concluded, but for many Kenyans it feels like much longer.

Many individuals around the nation turned on their radios and televisions, while others remained tuned to social media for developments.

Dozens of civil society organizations, the media, and the prominent National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) are maintaining parallel tally sheets.

Multiple media outlets have independently placed Ruto and Odinga in the lead, causing widespread confusion.

Either contender must receive more than 50 percent of the vote and at least 25 percent in at least 24 of Kenya's 47 counties to win the presidency.

Given Kenya's history of contested elections that have occasionally culminated in violence, there have been pleas for peace as observers, people, and those from neighboring countries await the outcome of the elections.
