Barka Restaurant, a Swahili hotel in Mombasa is known to be one of the best hotels in the coastal region of Kenya. In several occasions president Uhuru Kenyatta has been visiting the restaurant for meals together with other government VIPs. According to one of the restaurant staffer, Tiny Mzee, any abrupt visit by the president, force the staff to request other VIP guests in the VIP lounge to move yo common area to create room for His Excellency. However in many occasions, president's visit to the hotel is often notified in advance for preparation purposes.
Of course, before the visit presidential security officers arrive early in the hotel to inspect thoroughly the area and food to be taken by Mr president and his companions.
The hotel is located in Old Town Mombasa few metres from central police station, hence security of guests is guaranteed. The hotel is also loved due to its amazing quality food and its amazing three lounges which consists of Common lounge, VIP lounge and VVIP lounge.
