After confronting President Emmanuel Macron during a panel discussion in Montpellier, media personality Adelle Onyango's speech has gone viral in France.

Onyango accused France of living in "denial" of its "destructive past" during colonial times during her speech. She went on to say that Africans were suffering every day as a result of colonialism.

The media celebrity, along with 11 other young Africans, urged France to assist democratic renewal in nations where leaders are clinging to power under "democratic dictatorships."

"What we end up with is skepticism of what exactly France stands for," she declared to rapturous applause at a forum in Montpellier attended by roughly 3,000 Africans.

Senegalese blogger Cheikh Fall, for one, has challenged the president to refrain from cooperating with totalitarian leaders.

He demanded that France apologize for crimes committed during the colonial period.

In response to the young leaders, Macron remarked that Paris regularly expressed its opposition of political or military coups across the continent and cut ties with authoritarian countries.

"I have never built up a military base unless democratically legitimate leaders have asked me to," he remarked.
