a week after drama ensued in Baringo county assembly during the discussion of the Constitution Amendment bill of 2021, the Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (EACC) has summoned 13 members of county assembly (MCAs) for questioning.
Through a letter seen by this publication, the anti corruption body has written to the assembly, summoning a total of 18 individuals among them the Speaker to the County Assembly David Kiplagat, his deputy Jacob Cheboiwo, clerk Richard Koech and three Sargent Arms.
According to the letter, the EACC has summoned the clerk to provide the Hansard for the mentioned date and personal files for Kabarnet Ward MCA Ernest Kibet and his Mogotio counterpart Charles Kosgei alias Chako.
The letter signed by Christine Natome on behalf of the EACC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Maj. (Rtd.) Twalib Mbarak further asks the clerk to instruct the 18 persons to avail themselves at the EACC South Rift Offices in Nakuru between February 22 and February 24, 2021 for grilling.
This was after scuffles were witnessed during the debating and voting of the bill that led to some members supporting and opposing the bill engaging in physical fights.
