Meet Mother And Her Son-in-law Who Have Won MCA Seats In Nakuru County Under UDA Party

Four days after Kenyans casting their votes to elect their favorite leaders, Nakuru county residents have surprised a family by electing mother and her son-in-law to serve as MCAs. According to the reports published, Ngarama and his mother-in-law Grace Mwathi were both recently elected as Members of County Assembly (MCAs) in Nakuru County's Lanet Umoja and Bahati wards respectively where they vied for the seats under United Democratic Alliance (UDA) tickets.

Surprisingly, Ngarama's wife Lilian Mwathi who is also the first daughter to Grace Mwathi will also join then at the Nakuru county Assembly since she works their as a clerk. She has been also working there for the last five years. What a coincidence. “I feel honoured by the trust the people of Bahati have bestowed on me to lead them for the next five years. It is even a bigger honour that my son-in-law has also been elected,” Mwathi said.

The three have promised to work together but also promised to ensure that they keep their interactions official. “We shall do the same this time to ensure my daughter and her husband do not find ourselves in the same committee. During debates, we may differ but at no time shall I ‘beat’ my son,” said Mwathi.
