Elgeyo-Marakwet Senatorial Aspirants Say The Same Thing As Race To Succeed Murkomen Heats Up

Elgeyo Marakwet Senatorial aspirants have said the same thing as far as the race to succeed their current senator Kipchumba Murkomen is concerned.

Elgeyo Marakwet residents will get back to ballots on a date that is about be communicated by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission following the decision by President William Ruto to appoint Murkomen to his cabinet.

Murkomen will no longer server as a legislature in the senate assembly after he luckily got appointment as the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and infrastructure in Ruto's government.

So far according to reports given by TV 47, a total of 30 aspirants have already thrown their hats into this ring and are ready to take the baton towards the finishing line.

Today, a section of these aspirants who graced the burial of Egeyo-Marakwet governor Wesley Rotich's brother had the opportunity to talk to residents who also attended the funeral, and all spoke in one voice.

According to the aspirants, they do not want anybody to dictate who becomes Murkomen successor, but insists that the power should be left in the hands of Marakwet residents.

Their demand was echoed by Murkomen who was physically in attendance, as he insisted that he will not be involved in determining the who his successor will be, saying that he is ready to work with the leader his county residents will provide to ensure that their people get the best of services.
