According to Omanga, she was supposed to address the mourners but unfortunately some of the leaders present didn't want her since they had their own programme on who would talk.
She has cited the example of the Kisii county governor James Ongwae who wanted other women leaders from their Orange Democratic Movement ODM party to speak yet didn't want Omanga to address the mourners.
"About yesterday, I was to speak at the event but Gov Ongwae refused to give me the mic bcoz of my political persuasion yet he planned to give other women leaders a chance to speak. This is the discrimination I rejected before hired goons were persuaded accost me. I'm unbowed!"Milicent Omanga https://t.co/xTQh9OALPD
This led to a confrontation between the leaders and the nominated senator before she got thrown off stage by people she has described as having been hired good by an unknown people.
It is not yet known why the allies of the Deputy President William Ruto caused chaos at the event which would have called for a peaceful moment of mourning and giving respect to the dead.
Millicent Omanga and her counterpart in Parliament Honourable Sylvanus Osoro have come under heavy criticism with most Kenyans saying that they were acting on behalf of their master.
