The last few months have not been the best for ODM leader Raila Odinga after he was defeated in the just concluded Presidential elections by Kenya Kwanza leader William Ruto.
The former Prime Minister had high hopes of winning the elections only for him to be defeated in the first round. Raila tried to petition the result at the Supreme Court but his consolidated petition was thrown out for lack of substantial evidence to prove his assertions beyond reasonable doubt.
Since losing the elections Raila has resorted to social life with the enigma recently seen in Zanzibar having a good time.
Before that, Raila had hosted President Kenyatta for a drink with photos emerging showing the leaders enjoying their bottles.
Raila's recent appreciation for social life continued yesterday after he was pictured enjoying a bottle of dry gin at Karua's Birthday.
He was enjoying the famous Tanqueray dry gin. Tanqueray is a London dry gin, reflecting its distillation process and origin in Bloomsbury, London. London dry gin is made by double distilling grain, with select botanicals added during the second distillation.
It contains an alcohol percentage of 40-47%. A 750 bottle of Tanqueray Dry Gin costs between 30-40 dollars. An equivalent of around Ksh 3500-4500 in Kenya.
