Rutto's Powerful Statement After Meeting Elders From Rift Valley

The former Bomet governor Issack Rutto has since today met with elderly men and women. The ex governor also took his chance to applaud the elderly ones.

Rutto, who is eyeing the Bomet governorship seat against his rival and incumbent Hillary Barchok, is seeking to be re-elected in next year's general election.

While meeting the elders, the ex-governor acknowledges the role that is played by elders in every society and wants the elderly ones to have full care in the community.

"The elderly play a dear role in our society.We are because of them and at our individual or government capacities, we must ensure that they enjoy the best care ever for their golden role in our communities," Rutto said

The governor disclosed that he spent the better part of the day mingleling with the elders which include Mzee Kikwai Arap Ng'eny, Paulina Chumo and later with Mzee Arap Tuei Laboso.

"Glad to have spent time today with 97-year-old Mzee Kikwai arap ng’eny alias Saisan and 87-year-old Paulina Chumo of Kapsinendet and later checked on 105-year-old Mzee Arap Tuei Laboso of Kapmabwai," he said.

The gubernatorial seat hopeful Issac Rutto also wished the elders a long life as they are the source of blessings in each and every community.
