Canadian Based Kenyan lawyer, a solicitor and barrister, Joshua Miguna Miguna has been trending for the better part of late this week after announcing that, together with many other public figures, he will be accompanied back home to Kenya on November 16th after being forcefully exiled for over 3 years now.
Well, Miguna is not a person who you can easily change especially if he believes in something. Kenyans on Twitter have been urging him to at least humble himself and desist from attacking those in power to ease his way back home.
Miguna has stated a tweet clarifying that humbling himself is a no and he rejects it. He stated he cannot accept being called a foreigner in a country he was legally born and has promised to resist such forever.
“If humbling myself means surrendering to impunity and injustice, I reject it. If it means cowering in fear at the sight of despots, I defy it. If it means accepting to be branded a foreigner in my own country of birth when I am not, I will resist it forever,” he wrote.
