Dedan Kimathi's Widow seeks help after detention in Hospital over 1Million Bill, Dp Gachagua responds

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua responds to Dedan Kimathi's widow, Mukami, who was detained in Nairobi Hospital over a pending one million hospital bill. This was after the freedom fighter made an appeal to the President, His excellency Hon. William Rutto to come in and help see her out. Deputy president Gachagua said, "I am saddened that Mukami, the wife of the freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi has been ill and admitted to Nairobi hospital." He further said that no freedom fighter will undergo pain again as they struggled and fought the white men and liberated our country.

The deputy president admitted that him and the president were aware as the issue was brought to them while on their working tour in Nyanza with the president, William Rutto through the Widows daughter, Miriam Kimathi. The deputy president assured Kenyans that the government will do everything possible to ensure the freedom fighters are well kept and their agendas will be seen and agreed upon as we are enjoying the fruits of their labor. He further said that he had tasked Embakasi central Member of parliament Hon. Benjamin Gathiru to look into her situation and to treat it with urgency. He further promised to visit her in Nairobi hospital or at his home when they finish their working tour to check on her progress and to find out measures to make out her life very comfortable so as she enjoys the fruits of being in a free country.

Mukami, the wife to the late field Marshall Dedan Kimathi was admitted to Nairobi Hospital on 5th of January after showing symptoms of pneumonia. She was rushed to Nairobi hospital and treated. She was to be discharged on 14th of January but the facility detained her as the family and friends were not able to raise one million shillings to cater for medical bill.

Her family through her daughter Miriam Kimathi made a public appeal on 14 of January to the president and deputy president to help in raising the bill. Thanks to them for they responded immediately.
