Absent With Apology: David Sankok Clarifies Winnie Odinga’s Absence in President Ruto's Meeting.

David Ole Sankok, one of the elected Members of East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) bas clarified why Winnie Odinga was conspicuously missing today when they met H.E. President William Samoei Ruto to discuss matters of EAC importance.

In a statement via via social media page, Sankok who was nominated by United Democratic Alliance Party to the regional Parliament revealed that Winnie Odinga was absent with apology. Ruto met the MPs at State House Nairobi following their election last month. Images shared by State House Kenya showed that all EALA Mps-elect were present except Winnie Odinga.

During the course of the meeting, the President requested that the Members of Parliament place a higher priority on promoting peace, trade, and investment in the East African Region. In addition to this, he strongly recommended that they set aside their political differences and collaborate for the sake of Kenya.

Those who met President William Samoei Ruto at Statehouse were Hon Kanini Kega (James Mathenge), Hon Hassan Omar, Hon Godfrey Maina Karobia, Hon Kennedy K Musyoka, Hon Zipporah Keiring, Falhada Dekow and Hon Suleiman Shahbal.

As members of EALA, the nine MPs are entitled to a monthly gross salary of Sh1.4 Million inclusive of allowances, a vehicle provided by the mother country, a free visit to member countries, and travel allowances.
