The Mbus Party is Coming Back, Confirms Governer Kiraitu

The Governor of Meru County H.E. Kiraitu Murungi has assured the people of Meru and Mt. Kenya East that the Alliance Party of Kenya(‘MBUS’) Party will be revived soon to spearhead and champion for their interests at the national level. ‘MBUS’ Party which was formed in 2013 and participated in the first elections under the new constitution the same year achieved great success winning several governors, senators, MPs and MCAs and has since been the most successful party from the region. It was suspended together with others such as TNA, URP and more than ten other political parties that allied to form the ruling Jubilee Party.

Announcing that the Party was never completely killed, Governor Kiraitu said it had entered into temporary agreement in the Jubilee Coalition which is bound for expiry and as such, will be returning in the national arena as a vehicle for Meru people to champion for their interests in the coming government in 2022. The Governor spoke at Gitiye Primary School, Kiagu Ward in Central Imenti, during funeral ceremony of late Hon. Eunice Karegi, who was the MCA for Kiagu Ward in Central Imenti elected under Maendeleo Chap Chap Party of Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua of Machakos.

Governor Mutua who has declared his run for President in 2022, welcomed the revival of ‘MBUS’ by Mt. Kenya East region, saying that he is ready to enter into negotiations once it is reconstituted in order to strengthen the political bargaining power for the Eastern region.

Speaking at the function, Deputy Governor H.E. Titus Ntuchiu scoffed at those opposed to the unity of Mt. Kenya East and formation of the regional party, noting that they themselves have fronted their own ramshackle parties and used massive resources yet they could not match the success of Governor Kiraitu’s APK. He called on them to respect Governor Kiraitu as the political grandmaster who has been the architect of winning parties in Kenya, including the ruling Jubilee Party. The DG also laughed off their demand that Governor Kiraitu shows what he has delivered for Meru County as Governor, since they are enjoying his development such as provision of water and good roads at their own backyard, yet when they had the opportunity, they didn’t have anything to show.Other leaders who spoke at the event including MPs, MCAs and other political players lauded the revival of APK and called on Governor Kiraitu to fast track the revival process, noting that it will put Meru County at the forefront during the formation of next government and sharing of the national cake in 2022.#RivevalOfAPK
