Days after visiting the Orange Democratic Movement party headquarters commonly known as Chungwa House, businessman cum politician Buzeki who is in the race to succeed governor Mandago, has declared that he will not be joining UDA or any other political.
Instead the Tycoon has declared that he will be going for the seat on an independent ticket just as he did in 2017.
Buzeki said he had decided to focus on his own political plans and avoid the baggage of marketing a party like UDA, which comes with many challenges especially during the primaries ahead of the general election.
“I have decided I will wait for all those battling in UDA so that they do what they are doing and then we meet in the premier league where I am fully prepared for the race,” Buzeki said.
It is however not clear which presidential candidate the businessman will support in 2022. Many had thought that Buzeki would join ODM or UDA after he resigned from Rutto's Chama Cha Mashinani. He will now face UDA candidate in the race to succeed Mandago who is serving his last term, it will however be challenging for him considering that the county is Ruto's home, a stronghold of UDA.
