Political commentator Mutahi Ngunyi has told Kenyans why Uhuru decided to support Raila and abandoned Deputy President William Ruto. Mr Ngunyi says the choice by President is a great move that will help end the enmity between Kikuyus and Luos who have been enemies during the ballots for no apparent reason. Mr Ngunyi has been a great supporter of President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga and sits in the strategic campaign committee for the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance.
According to Mutahi Ngunyi, the decision of Mr Kenyatta is timely and will help settle unnecessary scores between the Luo nation and the Kikuyu nation. The choice of Martha Karua is an honour for the Kikuyu women who is going to bring to life the dreams of women in the country.
“Uhuru’s choice of Raila Odinga will heal the 60-year-old wounds between the Luo nation and GEMA. Uhuru’s choice of Martha Karua honours our GEMA women. Dear Martha, GEMA nation is pregnant with promise. You are the midwife to stop its Kalenjinization. Impossible is nothing,” Ngunyi said.
