In a press release by State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena, Uhuru met with to party leadership from Raila Odinga's ODM, Musalia Mudavadi's ANC, Gideon Moi's Kanu, Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya, Charity Ngilu's NARC and Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper parties.
Among the key issues that the leaders discussed according to the report included a follow up of the meeting held on February concerning the rise in covid-19 infections across the country.
According to Kanze, all the leaders agreed to marshal their supporters to adhere to the ministry of health protocols as well as embracing the covid-19 vaccines that recently landed in the country.
"The President urged all political leaders to take the lead in observation of covid-19 protocols," read part of the statement.
At the same time, the head of state used the opportunity to urge all political leaders and their supporters , especially in Machakos to find a peaceful, amicable and uniting way forward during the upcoming by-election.
It was however, unclear if the political leaders were present in person or whether they were represented by their friends from the said parties.
This came at a time ODM party leader Raila Odinga is still under quarantine, after he was confirmed to be covid-19 positive a week a go.
On the other hand, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was having a busy schedule meeting United Kingdom Ambassador to Juba Jonny Baxter when the ambassador paid him a courtesy visit in Nairobi.
