On Tuesday night, the Catholic University of Eastern Africa had to remind the crowd not to applaud or applaud throughout the debate and to follow the standing rules.
When Deputy President William Ruto was responding to a question about why his opponent Raila Odinga had missing the debate, they disregarded the rules and cheered him on.
Ruto criticized Raila Odinga for skipping the discussion while standing at the platform and said that this was unrelated to the accusations made by his campaign.
The DP claims that Raila wasted the opportunity because he is without a plan. The former prime minister, he said, has supposedly grown accustomed to easy questions and does not want to respond to them.
He continued by asserting that he was only a project and not a legitimate candidate for president, therefore he missed out.
Despite the prohibition, the audience cheered and applauded Ruto as he said, "My competition is not here because he doesn't have a plan, he doesn't want to answer questions, he could not come here because he is not here candidate, he is a project."
He issued a warning that the Deep State would not make the choice and that no one should get comfortable believing they would become the next president.
